THE STORY OF LOVE BY JM'S WOOD FLOWER DESIGNS
Jacqueline McMillan is a local artist in Mobile, Alabama, who creates art by painting and arranging flowers made out of wood. She does all of the work as a quadruple amputee. Jacqueline discovered wood flowers while looking for a bouquet for her wedding and fell in love with them.
In March 2018, Jacqueline created the business Love by JM, "hands-free crafts made with love” to sell wood flower arrangements, decor, and art. She transforms the wood by mixing beautiful colors and manipulating it into realistic flowers. Her creations put smiles on people's faces. She started exhibiting at Art Walk in downtown Mobile, Alabama. She then attended her first “Jubilee Festival of Arts” in Daphne in 2018, where she received her first bridal order. The bride ended up on the “Ellen Show” and it helped boost her recognition.
The Alabama Press Register ran a full-page article about Jacqueline and her business state wide in the Sunday and weekly paper https://www.al.com/life/2019/02/the-inspiring-story-of-the-woman-who-made-the-flowers-for-alabamas-most-talked-about-wedding.html . Jacqueline was also featured on WKRG 5 NEWS, and “Our Southern Souls” a book published by Fairhope Alabama's local storyteller Lynn Henderson Oldshue.
